UHMWPE Sheet
UHMWPE or Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Sheet is a high performing engineering plastic that provides excellent results in terms of low friction and high wear resistance.

UHMWPE Sheet is not as well known within the general population as nylon although it can certainly outperform these more traditional materials and provide other advantages such as lower operating temperatures and improved impact strength.

UHMWPE Sheet Applications
One area where UHMWPE Sheet excels is in the high abrasive environment such as chute linings in the aggregates industry, this material is one of the few products that can withstand such aggressive punishment and provide a practical solution this material will also resist adhesion of such products as cement and concrete which means that even when these materials may have cured, minimal effort is required to clean chutes and bring them back to a clean condition.

UHMWPE Sheet Advantages
There are two main advantages of UHMWPE Sheet, the first is it's very low friction, this is very low and one of the best engineering plastics for this requirement. The other main advantage of UHMWPE Sheet is the abrasion resistance and as mentioned earlier, there are very other plastics that can compete with UHMWPE Sheet for high abrasion applications.

UHMWPE Sheet Machining
This engineering plastic is very easy to machine with machine equipment such as milling and drilling machines. UHMWPE Sheet can be milled or drilled with regular machine tools or cutters although they do need to be as sharp as possible and to get the best surface finish after machining the tools themselves would need to be ground to an optimum plastic profile which leaves a very smooth finish.
